The King's Own to storm Fort Ticonderoga

From September 9 - 11, The King's Own, with flintlock ready, will be at Fort Ticonderoga for an annual reenactment.

A National Historic Landmark, Fort Ti is an ancient battlement in upstate New York on Lake Champlain that was quite prominent in the 18th Century. During the French & Indian War and The American Revolution, the Champlain Valley was contested, first by the French and British and then by the British and break-away colonies of America.

In 1777, General Burgoyne lead a force out of Canada down Lake Champlain with the goal of capturing Albany and eventually splitting the colonies. Although the Americans were ready at the fort, they didn't conceive that the British could haul cannon to the top of nearby Mount Defiance. The Americans, seeing their vulnerability, hastily retreated, and there would be a series of engagements until the British surrended at Saratoga.

Come visit the 4th as we encamp at Fort Ti. Learn by demonstrations about the famous firelock, Brown Bess. Enjoy the splendor of upstate New York and take in the battle reenactments.
